Episode Overview

Title: Homegrown Enemies Plot: A middle-aged man caring for his sick mother contracts Babesiosis after walking barefoot to the mailbox. Having lost his spleen to cancer, he suffers from severe diarrhea, fever, fatigue, and night sweats. Meanwhile, a busy woman in her forties experiences stomach cramps, intense diarrhea, dizziness, and blurred vision, likely due to Toxocara infection from tainted food. Additionally, an older mother of five faces nausea, appetite loss, muscle spasms, and vomiting caused by the Strongyloides worm, possibly acquired through contaminated soil. Steroid use for her respiratory issues has weakened her immune system, making her more susceptible to the parasite.
