Episode Overview

Emma is bogged down with a school project, which means she can't join Joshua for soccer. Frustrated by the task of interviewing her parents about an intriguing ancestor, she struggles to find inspiration. Luckily, Barney steps in and reveals that her ancestors hailed from Venice, Italy. Using his Travel Book, he whisks Emma, Joshua, and Riff off to Venice, where they enjoy a gondola ride and learn about the famed explorer Marco Polo. Emma meets Barney’s friend Anna Maria, who introduces her to her great-grandfather’s shop. They explore masks, and as Emma realizes that crafting the mask in parts makes it easier, Barney encourages her to apply the same approach to her project.
