S02E10 Yes, We Have No Bananas (or Anything Else for That Matter)
Episode Overview
In this whimsically absurd episode, humor arises from the increasingly illogical situations reminiscent of Preston Sturges. Marlene, Greg's cantankerous secretary (the delightful Yeardley Smith returns!), is upset by her annual review marked as "Satisfactory." Meanwhile, Greg is thrilled to receive a "Superior" rating, only to discover that Pete received the same accolade. When he confronts his boss, Greg's frustration mounts as he realizes the man cannot differentiate between the simplest choices (like Tahiti versus Buffalo for a honeymoon or fresh bread versus stale). To make matters worse, his boss promotes Pete during Greg's medical leave. Simultaneously, Greg faces Dharma's impulsive choice to open a store without defining its purpose, which unexpectedly draws a crowd that finds her space comforting, leading them to create a barter system. Naturally, the episode drives towards one absurd conclusion.
