In this season, Jamie and Adam take on a challenge unlike any they've attempted before: creating an implosion using a vacuum. According to legend, a freight train tank car was being cleaned with steam when a rainstorm hit. The engineers inadvertently sealed the container filled with hot steam and left for the day. As the rain cooled the tank car, the steam condensed and contracted, leading to a pressure difference that crushed the heavy steel car like a soda can. Could this really happen? The MythBusters dedicate a whole episode to uncovering the truth, launching their largest logistical operation to date.
