Estevan remains determined to win the affluent Margarita's hand, but he understands that Zorro will always stand in his way. Don Alejandro proposes that if Estevan were to establish a farming life, Zorro might see that his intentions are genuine. He offers Estevan a modest piece of land to cultivate and wishes him success in his new venture.
