Logan and Barek delve into the mysterious death of eighteen-year-old violinist Laura Booth, whose body is discovered hidden in a shaft, her fingers smeared with cocaine and resin. Initially suspecting a link to the crew's drug dealings, they soon uncover a romantic entanglement between the conductor, Julian Reinhardt, and Laura's mother, Gillian Booth. When bite marks on Reinhardt's back are identified as Laura's, the detectives feel they are close to solving the case—until Gillian unexpectedly marries the man accused of killing her daughter.
