Their investigation reveals that St. Gerald's was the main focus of the arsonist. As they dig deeper, they encounter Justin Reid, who contributed $100,000 for the church's restoration, along with his stepmother Regina, who had seduced him during his teenage years, and his half-brother Glynn, part of a cleanup crew that worked on the churches right before they were set ablaze. Meanwhile, Deakins faces scrutiny when an email emerges suggesting he influenced Martinez to lie about the Logan shooting in exchange for a promotion. This email leads back to Frank Adair, a former officer serving time for murder.
