The Lone Ranger (1949)
S01E44 White Man's Magic
Episode Overview
Tonto stumbles upon the lifeless body of a Native American from a nearby tribe, prompting him and the Ranger to suspect foul play. They trace a set of tracks that lead back to the reservation. Meanwhile, we learn that local Indian police Sergeant Pala is colluding with the Empire Land Company owner to incite rebellion among the tribes in hopes of seizing their land. Tonto and the Ranger uncover a hidden stash of weapons left by Pala and manage to render them useless. The tribe's Chief, White Eagle, is poisoned, igniting the anticipated uprising. Realizing Tonto is on to him, Pala attempts to eliminate him but is stopped by the Ranger, who captures Pala. The duo rushes to intervene as the Indians prepare to attack. However, when the tribe's guns misfire, they interpret it as a sign from the spirit of White Eagle and choose to stand down.
