Episode Overview

When firemen respond to a vehicle blaze, they find a mechanic in a catatonic state. At Rampart, the doctors are puzzled by his condition. Meanwhile, Roy scolds a woman who repeatedly calls the paramedics out of loneliness. Another woman accidentally combines ammonia and bleach, creating toxic gas. The owner of the dog John cared for in 'Mascot' comes back, gifting him a new puppy. An elderly couple finds themselves trapped in their home by a mass of tumbleweeds. In a dramatic turn, a friend of the catatonic man administers an injection, prompting him to leap out of a window onto a sixth-floor ledge.
