Bret is among three men covertly protecting an abandoned government outpost from a group of war-hungry Indians. Using his wit and clever ruse, Maverick manages to frighten them away. However, when a wary Indian chief (Paul Clarke) enters the scene, Bret begins to have second thoughts about their situation.
