After security foreman Gary Mallon is shot during a robbery at a Blyth container port, initial evidence suggests a bold heist gone wrong. Vera begins to question whether it was an inside job. The case takes a dramatic twist when Gary’s ex-wife reports their 13-year-old son missing. It turns out that Gary was coerced in a tiger kidnapping, with his son held as leverage—yet his whereabouts remain unknown. To save the boy, Vera must identify those responsible for the robbery. Complications arise when she is compelled to team up with an NCA Officer involved in a covert operation linked to organized crime. As Vera zeroes in on the kidnappers, a crucial mistake has devastating consequences, leading to her removal from the case.
