An outbreak of a sexually transmitted infection hits several staff members at the hospital, prompting Chief Webber to convene a meeting. At the same time, he hesitantly confides in Dr. Derek Shepherd about his own health issues. Izzie and Cristina find themselves caught in the middle of a disagreement between a patient’s wife and daughter over his treatment. Meanwhile, Burke examines his old friend Bill, whose diagnosis leads to some troubling implications about his wife's behavior. Just as Meredith and Derek's relationship begins to deepen, an unexpected twist occurs.
