Cristina is frustrated by the enforced work limit for the New Year. Izzie's patient, Denny Duquette, has two wishes: to receive a heart transplant and to be with Izzie. Meanwhile, Addison can't stand Derek's trailer, and Derek pays a visit to Meredith's mother. George is attending to a young teen hermaphrodite who is struggling with her pre-pubescence. Additionally, there are peculiar behaviors from patients and the usual chaos in the doctors' relationships, creating more drama among the staff.
