The 23rd division is deployed to Africa in response to an urgent need for assistance. Tanya teams up with another doctor to treat an injured sergeant. Meanwhile, Claudia Joy is at home grappling with her health issues, while Denise and Jackie stop by to meet the sergeant's family and help them settle in at Fort Marshall. Roxie encourages a hesitant army wife to join the family readiness group, hoping it will ease her transition into life at Fort Marshall. Roland discovers something surprising about Charlie. Back in Africa, the troops must protect a medical clinic from a militia attack.
