Episode Overview

St. John is trailing Jo in a bi-plane as she tests a new navigation system in her helicopter over a remote wilderness. Out of nowhere, a ground-based laser strikes her chopper, causing it to plummet. St. John's plane also suffers damage, but he manages to land safely in the nearby town of Santa Mira before losing consciousness. When he wakes up in the hospital the next day, he’s frustrated that no one believes his account and sets out to find Jo. Upon reaching the crash site, he discovers there’s no evidence of the incident, and as he digs deeper, he realizes the town is gripped by an unsettling fear.
