In a bid to keep Kitty safe, Matt finds himself needing to confront the unruly Pat Swarner in a physical altercation in front of witnesses. Shortly after, Pat is discovered dead, and the drunken Jud Sloan's assertion that the Marshal is the murderer raises unsettling doubts about Matt's innocence.
