Episode Overview

In this episode of Roadkill, we're giving our beloved rusted relic a new lease on life, powered by a used Ford 5.0L Mustang V-8 paired with a turbo from a Power Stroke diesel. Our trusty 1971 Datsun 240Z had previously earned its stripes with a junkyard turbo on a Chevy 4.3L, but after the crankshaft snapped during the 24 Hours of LeMons race in Episode 42, it was time to move on. With rumors that the Ford 5.0L V-8 can split at 500 hp, we couldn't resist testing it in the Rotsun. We picked up a beaten-up Fox-body Mustang for just $1,500, transplanted the engine and transmission, and added the old turbo. The big question looms: will the Rotsun finally meet its match?
