Roadkill (2012)
S07E03 The Ugly Truckling Dragster!
Episode Overview
Is effort the key to success? If that’s the case, Roadkill powered by Dodge takes the win once more in this episode! Back in the early ’50s, the first dedicated drag-race cars were stripped-down rail jobs, designed for maximum speed by focusing only on the frame and drivetrain. Inspired by this, David Freiburger decided to transform a big-block pickup into a modern rail job. He found an inexpensive GMC Crew Cab, and things quickly escalated with help from Lucky Costa, Steve Dulcich, and Calin Head, who laid the foundation for an impressive build before Mike Finnegan arrived to piece it all together. Ultimately, Freiburger and Finnegan drove their mid-engine dragster 500 miles to the Roadkill Zip-Tie Drags at Tucson Dragway, and while it performed as anticipated, it didn’t quite go as Freiburger had hoped.
