Event Magazine selects the Munsters as the quintessential American family, much to Grandpa's dismay, as he resents being called “average.” In a fit of frustration, he vanishes, putting both the family's photo shoot and a substantial cash prize at risk. When a journalist and photographer show up at their home, Herman and Lily mistakenly believe they are intruders, leading to a series of comical misunderstandings.
