At 1 a.m. on a chilly, rainy November night in 2011, authorities discovered Leanne Freeman unconscious and bleeding heavily. She succumbed to her injuries at a downtown hospital, marking Toronto's 42nd homicide that year. The 23-year-old Freeman led a solitary and troubled existence on the streets of Canada’s largest city. Struggling with addiction, she became involved with a group known as 'The Crystal Circle,' recognized for their involvement with crystal meth. It was individuals from this group who emerged as suspects in her tragic murder.
