The Untouchables (1959)
S02E17 Augie The Banker Ciamino
Episode Overview
In the summer of 1931, Chicago, Eliot Ness and his Untouchables had successfully dismantled many of the major breweries controlled by the mob. However, with the city's immigrants suffering from poverty and desperation, criminals exploited the situation, forcing them to produce a gallon of homemade whiskey daily using rudimentary stills that cost under $3 to assemble. At the helm of Little Italy's operations was Augie "The Banker" Ciamino, and with whiskey flowing from a thousand tenement stills, he effectively negated the progress Ness had achieved in his fight against crime.
