Episode Overview

In the aftermath of World War I, a wave of European immigrants began arriving in the United States. By the early 1920s, the six Genna brothers from Sicily were making their way to Chicago. These brothers quickly established themselves as the ruthless overlords of Little Italy, an Italian enclave in the city. One evening, while they were assaulting a street vendor, Agent Enrico Rossi intervened. When the gang's leader, Mike Genna, asked if Rossi recognized them, he retorted, "Sure, the Genna brothers—one rat with six heads!" Mike noted that Rossi was Italian too, to which Rossi replied that he felt ashamed.
