The Blue Planet (2001)
S01E07 Tidal Seas
Episode Overview
The gravitational pull of the sun and moon shifts immense volumes of water with each tidal cycle. The most powerful tides can drain entire bays, uproot trees along riverbanks, and leave sea life marooned on exposed shores. Milder tides guide vast schools of fish, leading stingrays gracefully through breathtaking underwater formations. As the water withdraws, the tide unveils stunning terrains, transforming the area into a glimmering expanse of salt crystals, home to tiny shrimp and vibrant pink flamingos.
