Paul Roland is haunted by visions of a woman from his nightmares, much to the frustration of his fiancée. Just six days before their wedding, he feels an irresistible urge to escape to Cornwall for a getaway, spurred on by his friend Geoffrey. While there, he unexpectedly stops in front of a cottage inhabited by a woman mourning her own fiancé, who perished in the Great War just two days before their wedding. Upon seeing a photograph that bears his resemblance, Paul realizes he is the reincarnation of her lost love. This revelation brings a sense of closure for everyone involved.
