Saving Lives at Sea (2016)
S02E05 Episode 5
Episode Overview
Across the UK, countless unpaid volunteers risk their lives daily to assist those in peril. "Saving Lives at Sea" showcases the dedicated individuals of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), who are always prepared to launch their vessels and rush to the aid of strangers at a moment's notice—day or night, rain or shine, all year round. Featuring footage from the crews' own cameras, this series immerses viewers in the intense and unpredictable world of RNLI rescues. In southwest Wales, the Tenby crew hurries to a kayaker suffering from potential back and neck injuries caused by a sudden wave. Meanwhile, teams from Cornwall unite for an extensive 11-hour operation to prevent a massive 3,600-tonne coaster from being wrecked on the rocks. Additionally, the Dart and Salcombe crews are stunned when they receive a call for the most significant rescue of their careers.
