Episode Overview

Driven by his own arrogance, Mussolini's reign as "The Duke" resulted in a series of catastrophic failures for the Fascists in Italy. As his defeats piled up, he went on the run, moving from one secret location to another in a frantic quest for safety during World War II. His final refuge was a massive bunker in Monte Soratte, so sophisticated that it would eventually serve as a NATO base after Italy's surrender. Would this fortress be sufficient to shield Il Duce from the advancing Allied forces?
