The Universe (2007)
S04E10 Pulsars & Quasars
Episode Overview
Title: Pulsars & Quasars Plot: While they may sound similar, Pulsars and Quasars are distinctly different cosmic entities. Pulsars, small in size—just a few miles wide—rotate at astonishing speeds, emitting beams of radiation that create a flickering effect. With incredibly powerful magnetic fields and precision that surpasses atomic clocks, they could even guide extraterrestrial life to our planet! In contrast, Quasars represent the massive centers of galaxies, dominated by enormous black holes that eject streams of charged gas known as "DRAGNs." These distant objects, viewed as they were in the early universe, likely contributed significantly to the formation of galaxies.
