Episode Overview

Paul Brett, a skilled criminal lawyer, is approached by Mrs. Cannon-Hughes, a former nurse who cared for the ailing wife of Gilbert Hughes until she passed away. After marrying Mr. Hughes, she suspects that he was responsible for his first wife's murder. Brett informs her that there's not much that can be done without solid proof, yet he finds himself drawn to her. They eventually fall in love and marry after Gilbert takes his own life. Unbeknownst to Brett, his decisions will lead to unforeseen repercussions.
