During an antique auction, Ann acquires a box of odds and ends that includes a baseball. Shortly after her purchase, a mysterious man begins to shadow her, intent on retrieving the baseball. It soon becomes clear that he is a former baseball player seeking the ball for emotional reasons tied to his past.
