Donald’s alluring new secretary, Pat Crawford, plans to join him on a work trip to Washington, D.C., aiming to win his affection away from Ann. Feeling overlooked and heartbroken, Ann resolves to save Donald from the discomfort of a breakup by ending things herself before he comes back. She starts returning all of her and Donald's belongings to their respective apartments. However, when she realizes she misjudged the situation, Ann finds herself racing against the clock to set everything right before Donald returns and discovers her intentions.
