Episode Overview
Stevie Walsh is released from prison and boards a train bound for Aidensfield, eager to reunite with his wife and settle some unresolved issues. However, a fierce snowstorm hits, isolating the area completely. The train crashes due to signal failure, leaving Nick stranded without police backup. He must take charge of a rescue effort alongside villagers Claude and George, tending to the injured, including Gina's brother Barry and Alex, who has a head injury. They transport the wounded to the village hall for shelter until help arrives. Meanwhile, Kate responds to a call from a man whose partner, Ellen—Stevie's ex-wife—is in labor. When they get stuck in the snow, Stevie unexpectedly assists them, and they all end up at the village hall where Kate helps deliver the baby.
