Episode Overview

Jane Thompson, an elderly woman living in her cozy cottage, starts receiving menacing phone calls and strange noises disturb her at night. Mr. Walker, a local landowner, has his sights set on Jane's property. Initially, Nick suspects Walker might be behind the intimidation, but Blaketon advises him to steer clear. After Jane's son-in-law sells the cottage, she is reluctantly moved to a care home but is unhappy and returns to her beloved cottage, refusing to leave. Nick discovers that the cottage wasn't actually her son-in-law's to sell, making her the true owner. It turns out he orchestrated the threats against her. Meanwhile, Alf finds a kitten and brings it to the station, knowing Mrs. Ventress dislikes cats. Blaketon orders it to be euthanized, but everyone else objects. Ultimately, Blaketon softens and takes the kitten home as his new pet.
