Episode Overview

Mr. Parker arrives in Aidensfield with no memory of the past seven years. It's believed that he vanished after leaving the village, abandoning his family after picking up his employer's payroll. Kate reaches out to his wife, Helen, who agrees to meet him. However, complications arise when another woman appears, claiming to be his wife. Meanwhile, Claude heads to the cinema to watch "Strangers on a Train," where he encounters a man who takes the film's premise a bit too far, proposing a plan for strangers to commit each other's crimes. Greengrass is uninterested, yet the man persists. After Claude declines, he discovers his barn has burned down shortly after revealing its insured value exceeded its worth. The stranger then kidnaps Alfred, prompting Nick and Greengrass to investigate, eventually finding Alfred safe, much to Claude's relief.
