Episode Overview

Clare presents a few news story concepts to her mentor, who encourages her to come up with more unique ideas to establish her identity. However, he ends up taking the school play concept and interviews Eli about it. Clare persuades him to allow her to write it, unaware that her mentor is quite taken with her. Meanwhile, K.C.'s mother starts to engage more in his life, prompting him and Bianca to arrange a date between her and their teacher. In another storyline, Maya and Campbell embark on their first date, but their chaperone, Katie, ends up hindering their plans.
