SpongeBob gets a letter from his old pal, Bubble Buddy, requesting him to look after his son, Shiny. However, Shiny is quite the handful, always getting into trouble. SpongeBob's challenge is to keep the little mischief-maker safe and steer him clear of anything sharp or dangerous.
