Episode Overview

Basilone grows increasingly impatient with his war bond campaigning and persuades the Marines to let him train soldiers preparing for battle. Moving to Camp Pendleton, he embarks on a passionate romance with Lena Riggi, a Marine who is hesitant at first. However, both are aware that their time together is limited, as Basilone is about to join the troops in the imminent Marine assault on Iwo Jima.
