Episode Overview
During Grand Final week in Mt. Thomas, everyone is betting on Awesome Lawson to triumph over the St. Davids football team, boosting the town's pride. While Jack struggles to concentrate at work amidst the excitement, Marnie Sommers pulls him back to reality with another case of petty crime. Jack is growing weary of Marnie's confrontational attitude and her repeated run-ins with the law. Marnie harbors resentment toward the town's adoration for football players like Jack and her imprisoned husband, Harro, who is serving time for armed robbery. To her, footy stars are nothing but worthless. When Harro returns, Marnie seeks an intervention order, accusing him of violence, but her troubled past raises doubts for the Heelers about his actual threat. Jack sees Harro as a decent guy and a fellow football player eager to reunite with his family. However, when reports of stolen CD players surface, Jack begins to suspect Marnie's involvement.
