Blue Heelers (1993)
S07E15 Dead For Quids
Episode Overview
An adored elderly woman passes away while in the care of Doc Bourke, a traditional country doctor known for making house calls, setting fractures in fields, and accepting livestock as payment. When her will is read, it’s revealed that she bequeathed her substantial estate to Doc Bourke, inciting outrage among her disgruntled relatives who accuse him of foul play. Tom, who was delivered by the Doc and has always viewed him as a hero, finds himself at odds with PJ, who harbors a deep-seated mistrust of doctors, particularly those who seem to play God. As PJ investigates the growing allegations against Bourke, tensions rise. For PJ, a police officer is someone who unconditionally upholds the law, while doctors pledge to save lives, leading to a moral dilemma: when does easing a terminally ill patient's suffering become a question of hastening death? And who holds the authority to make that decision?
