Ben and Jo face challenges while assisting an immigrant family recently settled in Mt Thomas, only to uncover profound issues behind their troubling actions. As they strive to support the family, they realize that the trauma from their past as asylum seekers in detention runs deep and isn't easily mended. When the father makes the difficult decision to admit the mother to a psychiatric facility, Ben finds himself in a perilous situation with their volatile teenage son. At the same time, Tom begins to embrace his fresh start at the rectory alongside Grace.
