Hoarders (2009)

Episode Overview

In 2008, Paul was charged with criminal littering and has repeatedly missed three court-ordered deadlines to tidy up his yard. His two-acre property is cluttered with over 70 abandoned cars, tons of scrap metal, and numerous old appliances. In January, a judge sentenced him to five days in jail and gave him a few months to clean up, warning of fines and more jail time if he fails. As the deadline approaches, Paul faces a tough choice: let tow trucks and scrap collectors clear his mess or serve time behind bars. Meanwhile, Missy, a hoarder with a seven-year-old son named Alex, is struggling as her child's hoarding tendencies emerge. Each time she tries to declutter, Alex becomes distraught over seemingly insignificant items, like a rusty chain or a used cotton ball. Unless Missy sets a positive example, Alex may never break free from this cycle. Now, she must confront her hoarding to ensure her son has a chance at a normal life
