Episode Overview
On August 6th, authorities including the Police, Fire Department, C.P.S., and Code Enforcement arrived at Jim's home, declaring it unlivable. Years of hoarding had driven a wedge between him and his siblings as well as his children. If Jim doesn't take action, he and his wife risk losing their home, and the grandchildren he's caring for could end up in state custody. A massive collection of dolls had already pushed Susan and Bill out, forcing them into a hotel where they drained their savings, including their retirement funds. Now back home, Bill, who is seriously ill, is relegated to sleeping on the basement floor. Their daughter has warned that she will involve Adult Protective Services if the situation isn't resolved soon.
