Episode Overview
Laura, battling terminal cancer, finds it nearly impossible to rest due to her fragile state. The only spot available for her to lay down is two-thirds of the living room couch, which is cluttered with plastic bins, toys, scrapbooking materials, rotting furniture, old magazines, and a carpet tainted with cat urine. Her hoarding has taken a toll on her relationship with her husband and daughters. Aware that this may be her final chance, she seeks to relieve her family of the burden of her possessions. Meanwhile, Penny, a 44-year-old single mother of two, struggles in her three-bedroom home, so overwhelmed with clutter that her toddler has to sleep with her on the couch. Her fridge is broken, leaving a foul odor lingering in her outdated home.
