Episode Overview

The TARDIS is thrust towards a high-tech factory on Earth due to a solar tsunami, where human replicas called "Gangers" are created to extract hazardous acid as the Doctor's adventures continue. When a second wave strikes, the Gangers gain independence, recalling every moment and emotion of their original counterparts. This raises a moral dilemma: are their memories usurped or genuinely inherited? Are they simply flawed machines needing to be deactivated, or do they possess true consciousness? The Doctor must persuade the frightened humans to recognize the Gangers as sentient beings to avert a civil war and defuse the factory's impending explosion.
