Pumbaa becomes convinced that he has laid an egg, leading him and an unwilling Timon to care for the hatchling they nicknamed the "ugly chicken." Meanwhile, the Cheetahs devise a plan to eliminate the Hyenas by tricking them into a series of pointless pursuits.
