While gathering donations, Reverend Alden falls ill. In a twist of fate, Caleb Hodgekiss, a former convict, offers the Reverend shelter and steps up to collect the donations from Walnut Grove. Caleb pretends to be a supportive friend of the Reverend, all the while scheming to pocket the funds for himself.
