After the passing of her beloved dog, Jack, Laura's father surprises her with a new companion, Bandit, who unexpectedly appears at their home. Despite Bandit's cheerful demeanor, Laura is initially resistant to accepting him. However, during a visit to her Aunt Kezia, a solitary figure, Laura comes to understand her true feelings and discovers a deep affection for Bandit.
