Little House on the Prairie (1974)

Episode Overview

Caroline receives a letter from a close friend in distress. Her friend, expecting a child and residing at a gold mining camp, is caught in the midst of an influenza outbreak. Caroline uncovers the unsettling truth that her friend's husband harbors a deep resentment towards her and wishes for the baby's demise. Tragically, during childbirth, Caroline's friend passes away, but the infant survives. Meanwhile, another mother experiences the heartbreak of losing her own child. Moved by the situation, Caroline decides to entrust the newborn to the grieving mother, knowing the child will be loved and cared for.
