Rosewood’s collaboration with Villa is put to the test when she’s assigned to work alongside a recent transfer from the East Miami PD, someone with whom she shares a complicated history. As Villa and her new partner delve into the suspicious death of a suburban dentist involved in a drug operation, Rosewood can’t shake the suspicion that her “replacement” knows more about the victim’s illicit dealings than he’s admitting. Meanwhile, a new medical examiner, Dr. Anita Eubanks, joins the team, while Hornstock's personal insecurities complicate his handling of the public relations aspect, leading him to seek help from an unexpected ally.
