As Baby David celebrates his first birthday, the Royles gather once again, reminiscent of last Christmas. This time, they are accompanied by Darren and Emma, along with her parents. Emma's dad, Roger, can't help but brag, much to Jim's irritation. After their guests depart, a disgruntled and frustrated Jim unexpectedly receives the most delightful surprise of all.
