On June 27, 1881, 64-year-old coin dealer Isaac Frederick Gold was murdered aboard the 2:00 PM express train heading from London Bridge to Brighton. The perpetrator was 22-year-old Percy LeFroy Mapleton, who committed the crime during the journey.
